These rounded stones were collected from the Pacific Northwest, near the coast of Washington State, where they have been battered and smoothed by the effects of water for ages.
The stones are meticulously painted, one dot at a time. Some dots are large, many of them are tiny, requiring great patience and focus. All the colors are mixed by hand, to create the various shades and gradients necessary for the palette. Once finished, the paint dries, and is then coated and sealed to protect from scuffing or being washed away by water. Some of the stones have lived outdoors in Iowa gardens for years, with no apparent effects.
These mandala stones make a great conversation starter, and a piece of decor that liven up any part of one’s home or garden.Â
