Lampwork beads are handmade beads made of molten glass using a centuries old technique.
Tracy heats the glass to its melting point with a blowtorch, then winds it onto a steel rod. The newly made bead then goes directly into a glass kiln, which strengthens the glass and prevents breakage.
The Artist spends many hours to search for the most beautiful, perfectly imperfect, stones and beads, tending towards bright colors and sparkly, faceted stones. The artist celebrates color and light in joyous fashion putting some of herself into each piece.
Tracy carefully selects each item to make her creations: sterling silver; gold-filled wire and beads; genuine gemstones; hand torched lampwork beads made by the artist; Swarovski crystals; carefully selected glass beads from all over the world, old and new; hand-made metal clay buttons, also by the artist; and many other things. Each piece assembled with love and care.
Given the imperfections of each handmade bead, each stone and of the artist, no two pieces are ever alike.
